Brewster, MA

This energy efficient new home received LEED Silver certification in 2015. The owners are a young couple with small children and extended family. They enjoy historic Cape homes, but were excited about a fresh reinterpretation. The site is in a quiet coastal neighborhood with roads of sand.  The program was to build a five-bedroom home with a study and playroom. Desiring a modest scale from different views, the home is broken into a collection of elements. The great room is transparent from the South garden to the north lawn with large lift-and-slide doors de-materializing the walls.
