JNA designed this primary residence for a site on the Sconticut Neck peninsula. The house replaces a deteriorating ranch that covered the majority of the lot.
Sited on the north half of the site and bordered to the north by wetlands, this modest house is a study in efficiency utilizing simple materials and a very compact footprint. Despite its diminutive size, the house achieves an open and bright interior by stretching the house vertically to create several multi-level spaces completed by a third floor loft providing 270-degree views of Buzzards Bay.
A generous covered front porch provides shaded outdoor living space while taking advantage of the prevailing southeast winds. A detached garage/woodshop is planned for the south side of the property.
